The Nike x atmos Air Max2 Light drops on the 5th April 8am GMT at 5 Pointz.
Long time collaborators Nike and atmos are at it again. Their latest release sees the highly coveted Japanese sneaker boutique take on the Air Max2 Light, remaining true to form and giving it a truly unique spin.
The Air Max2 Light
At the time of its release, the Air Max2 Light was the first to debut a four-chambered Air unit, complete with two different pressure systems. Boasting that the ‘Air’ inside the chambers was actually a gas that would not deflate over the lifetime of the shoe, it certainly hit the ground running.
atmos rose to become a pinnacle in the Japanese sneaker and streetwear scene throughout the early 2000’s. As the demand for unique pieces spread across the globe, atmos helped shape the scene as we know it today, stocking limited releases from brands such as Nike, adidas, ASICS and PUMA.
As their popularity grew, atmos started to collaborate with many of the brands they carried. Most notable are their early Nike collabs, such as the Air Max 1 Elephant and Animal Packs.

The inspiration for the Nike x atmos collab comes from vintage Nike track wear, with the entirety of the upper being decked out in a quilt of colours and styles from oldschool apparel.
Elevating the silhouette, in true atmos style, are transparent overlays, that replace the panels seen on the Air Max2 Light usually in leather against suede. The Air units
Accompanying the shoe drop, is a range of collaborative apparel. Tracksuits, t-shirts, longsleeves and a cap, all in vintage styles and colours will be available alongside the Nike x atmos Air Max2 Light.
