The Nike Air Woven Boot Flax / Ale Brown / Gum – 924463-200 – is released at 8am on 14th November online @ 5 Pointz. 10am in-store.
The Nike Air Woven was first released in 2000. The unique woven uppers were hand made in Japan, and originally exclusively available in the land of the rising sun. Eventually there were releases in certain fashion capitols such as New York and London, but it never become a general release shoe. This meant it became a very niche style with a limited, but devoted fanbase. However it’s influence on silhouettes that followed was huge. The slip on, woven style has since been incorporated into the Flyknit franchise, along with being a feature of the Adidas NMD range.
The rich natural ‘Flax’ tone, often used on premium colour-ways from Nike, is inspired by the flaxseed. It works particularly well for Autumn releases, matching the leaves falling from the trees. This new Air Max Woven Boot is an adaptation of the Japanese original with a raised collar and a wider heel plate with horizontal striped details. The tongue has been adapted as well, going back to a more fitted style that hooks up with a suede detail on the lace holds.
