Brand History
The Hundreds was founded in 2003 by Bobby Hundreds and his crew. Their clothing is inspired by LOS ANGELES LIFESTYLE / CALIFORNIA CULTURE and Southern California's skateboarding, surf, punk, and hip-hop cultures. Their design ethic is also reminiscent of 1980s surf-culture t-shirts, independent skateboard company apparel of the 1990s, and the advent of "streetwear" at the end of the millennium.
"California has been a breeding ground for some of the world's most prolific subculture. From the punk scene of the '80s, to gangsta rap and skateboarding, California lifestyle is all about Doing It Yourself, questioning authority and the norm, and being different. At the core, The Hundreds is influenced by this attitude, and all the various subcultures that we grew up in during the 80s and 90s."

The brand has created a cult following using it's online magazine as a vehicle to showcase it's clothing, lifestyle and retail locations. The website now boast over half a million individual visitors per month who are attracted by the articles and interviews from within and around the streetwear culture. As Bobby Hundreds says in an interview for Sneaker Freaker magazine:
"At the time, if you were an apparel brand, you were mad hip-hop or whiteboy skater. There really was no in-between. So we utilized our website to push attention towards street culture and these amazing brands, artists and designers that were unknown in the wider market. It not only helped to fortify the culture and scene, but also legitimized our brand in terms of what we were all about."
The Hundreds is a lifestyle project that remains personal and direct. It is reflective of the streetwear community and culture and is completely dedicated to it's fanbase....The Hundreds is Huge!

Recent News
The Hundreds often take influence from landmarks in popular culture, like Bobby's obsession with Back to the Future (He even owns a DeLorean!). Their latest target seems to be American professional sports, as with the 'Wrigley' jacket which is a classic varsity jacket taking its name from the infamous baseball stadium in Chicago.
The latest example of this nod to pro-sport is the special release 'Show' snapback which features a basketball themed 'TH' design embroidered onto the front. It is available in 6 different colourways, each one affiliated to a well-known NBA team. The 'Golden State Warriors' version works particularly well.
The Hundreds are well known for the quality of the material and design that goes into the production of their tees. That's why it's always a good day at 5pointz when the latest drop of them lands on the doorstep and this latest lot are looking heavy.
The 'Squares' tee that features a grid pattern print made up of tiny Boxed Adam Logos is an unusual look for a tee from The Hundreds, but it works brilliantly i all three colourways. The 'Honor' tee with it's streethead versions of Scout achievemrnt badges and Scout-esque crest on the back is going down a storm with loyal TH followers.
A trend that has really taken root in the industry is the tee featuring a photo print of a hot woman mixed a subtle amount of text and branding. It seems to have really taken off with the work of urban photographer Estavan Oriol being put on tees by his Diamond Supply Co. and his own label. The Hundreds have done a few of these hot girl tees now and the latest is the 'Jean' which features a photo by friend of The Hundreds Natalia Mantini.
A staff favourite from this latest drop is definitely the 'Chef' tee. It features a proud looking guy in chefs whites standing next to a bomb with the same scene on the back after the bomb has exploded with only the skeleton of the dude left. The genius of a design is the retro Hanna Barbera style of the illustration. It looks sharp and emphasizes the humour of the piece perfectly.
