Brand History

For the last few years several graphic artists have become a defining force in streetwear. These artists have now joined together to form ROOK, a brand based solely around it's artwork. The brands goal is to produce the highest quality, eye-catching art and design, presented to the world on well constructed pieces of clothing.

Most people when they first see ROOK's designs state that they recognise the style from somewhere. This is because the brands two main illustrators, Jonathan Garcia (28) and Joe King (29), have produced work for nearly all the major street/skate/surf brands, so you may well have worn one of their designs without realising. King and Garcia form the core of ROOK, having been friends since childhood, forming a strong bond through their passion for graphics and illustration. Having found success through producing work for other brands, the idea to start ROOK slowly took shape between the pair. The founding idea was that the strength of the artwork could create the brands identity with no need for a definite allegeance to any particular location or sub-culture.

The driving idea behind ROOK is to have the artist at the forefront, instead of working away in the background unrecognized. It has been created to celebrate the ambition, talent and quality of work produced by the artists involved. ROOK exists not only to celebrate this work and the people who produce it, but also to inspire others who aim to create their own artwork and show them what is possible with the right level of passion and perseverance.
