LRG's Mission Statement
"A company designed to overthrow the masses by our influence. Our slogan is simple, “underground inventive, overground effective”. At LRG we focus on the ones that are trying to pay their rent with their passions. Think of us as a support group for the independent and underground culture. We put the spotlight where we think it really belongs, because it's much more than clothing and concepts, it is a way of living. LRG, innovative essence for the above-average person."
Brand History
Co-founded in 1999 in Santa Ana, CA, by Jonas Bevacqua and Robert Wright, Lifted Research Group (LRG) is a creative lifestyle clothing company. Jonas and Robert's vision was to design clothes that represented a variety of influences, a reflection of their environment and interests.
Through LRG's success as a brand and inclusive group concept, it has become an outlet to express not only Jonas and Robert's ideas, but also a platform for others to do the same. LRG takes pride in discovering and uncovering new and emerging talent; supporting those that pursue their goals with the same passion that supported its own growth. This concept has always remained the same, it's one that LRG stands beside and looks to share with the world. At LRG they are what they make, they are who they support, and they'll never forget where they come from.

Recent LRG News
It's always a good day around here when a drop of LRG tees come into the shop and this latest lot is a winner. There's a nice mix of recognizably LRG graphics with some more illustrative stuff in there to give the drop a varied look.
The 'Built On Design' tee that features a modernist cityscape sprouting from an LRG Recycle Logo is a perfect example of the afore-mentioned graphics that you could recognize as pure Lifted Research Group from a mile off. The same goes for the 'Think Legacy' tee that features the LRG tree and the recognizable vector silhouette of a mountainous landscape. There is also a clear nautical influence in there too with the rope lettering and anchor. The symmetry and flags give it the feel of an emblem for something like the Scouts (as with the 'Honor' tee from The Hundreds line this season).
The nautical thing is also present in a big way on 'The Get Down Knit' tee. Again it is satisfyingly symmetrical and this design is entirely embroidered so it is extremely tacile and not at risk of fading with too many washes.
Now back to the illustrative style as seen on the 'Weird War' tee. It isn't stated on the tee which LRG sponsered artist produced the illustration, like on their Artist's Range tees, but whoever ever it is has got the skills. The style is very similar to that of classic comic-book artists like Jack Kirby with a dark surreal twist. The artwork is full of movement and explosive energy along with several seperate characters including Felix the Cat. I think the message, if there is one, is that war is bad...but that's not entirely clear. Doesn't really matter though. The tee looks heavy.
