Brand History
Since its beginnings in 1922, every piece of Dickies workwear has stood for the quality, toughness, and pride that embodies the spirit of the American culture. The company started as an overall company, now it is the number one producer of workwear. By constantly expanding and evolving their range, Williamson-Dickie now offers a huge range which bridges the gap between fashion and workwear.

Dickies products are now sold across America and the rest of the world in countries such as Japan, Chile, Russia, Iceland, Canada, Mexico, Australia, the UK and many others.

During the last ten years Dickies has become a big player in the expanding streetwear market. This can be explained by it's alignment with the rising popularity of extreme sports, street art and underground music. The clothing worn for decades by industrial workers has now become a definite part of the 'Street' uniform.

Due to the fact that they produce workwear, the companies output is aimed solely at the work person, meaning Dickies never considers the world of popular fashion. However the honest, classicly styled simplicity of their products has attracted a certain segment of the fashion industry.

Looking at fashion labels now it is easy to see how a lot of their output is now workwear orientated, showing that these brands are now emulating the style that Dickies has always based it's production around. It is this focus on comfort and functionality that holds Dickies apart from other brands.

The celebrity endorsements that Dickies have enjoyed include many big hip hop names like Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill and The Roots.

Dickies is world renowned for it's high quality, hard-wearing clothing and 5 Pointz have got a load of gear in stock that definitely lives up to this reputation.

Recent Dickies News
Another dope collaboration capsule has come our way from Dickies. This time around they have teamed up with that classic world-famous streetwear brand Stussy. The result is a set of shirts, trousers an hoodys that combine the workwear heritage of Dickies with the laid back surfwear look of Stussy.

The shirts are made with a softer cotton than your usual Work-shirt  with subtle, understated co-branding on each. The 'Striped' work shirt has a thin striped pattern throughout, while the 'Dark Navy' and 'Blue' have a denim appearance with an embroidered script Stussy logo above the left chest pocket.

The 'Work Hood' in heather grey is a really satisfying shade with a contrasting white thermal lining and a co-branded logo on the left chest. It sums up the clean, fresh but casual feel that most streetwear strives to achieve.

A staff favourite from this capsule collection is definitely the 'Work Pant' which are constructed using the ultra tough but light-weight rip-stop cotton and again have subtle co-branded details throughout.

As well as the standard Dickies workwear that we have always stocked we have also recently recieved a drop from the collaborative collection that they have done with up and coming San Fransisco label Rebel8. Rebel8 was founded by Tattoo artist and designer Mike Giant and their creative output revolves heavily around his strong clean style of illustration. This Rebel8 and Dickies collab has produced some great pieces. We've got two excellent tees form this lot: the Union tee and the Get Some tee. The Union tee in black features a white print of a old fashioned style family crest with Dickies and Rebel8's names written into it to celebrate the union of the two brands. The Get Some t shirt in white is completely covered in old school bubble letters and graff pen styles saying 'Rebel Eight','Get Some','Giant' and other phrases.

The Rebel8 artwork is more subtle on the other pieces. The Career Ops shirt in black has black embroidery around the collar, the sleeves and the hem and a dual brand tag sewn onto the hem. The Buxton Jacket in black is also heavy on the embroidered details with Rebel8 logo embroidered across the back of the collar and a black skull embroidered onto the lining. It also has a metal Rebel8 logo tag attached to the collar. The Rebel8 reworking of the Dickies 874 work pants in a sight to behold. Not only are there embroidered details around the pockets, turn ups and waist but they are lined wirth the same print as on the Get Some t shirt. Turn them in side out and their is a barrage of bubble lettering and graff styles shouting out at you. A hidden gem from Rebel8.
