Brand History

Addict was founded back in 1996, by true devotees to streetwear and the corresponding scenes. Since then the brand has developed a unique style of streetwear that blends classic casual wear with truly quality outerwear. They have now gained over a decades worth of experience in the streetwear genre, with strong ties to cutting edge graphic design, groundbreaking music and the diverse world of board sports.

The choice of the name Addict came from wanting to describe the devotion and dedication people have for their chosen pastime, be it collecting trainers, making music or painting on walls. This is the way the founder members of Addict and its followers feel about the brand. Their clothing, especially the outerwear, has become a favourite of the freesports community, which has helped Addict become much more than your average clothing range.

Despite the fact that Addict has grown quickly in popularity the relatively small team in charge, who feel passionately about all aspects of the industry have maintained a tight hold on design, production, and promotion of each line. All design and product development is still done in house, with an underlying desire to let the brand evolve naturally rather than fitting into passing fashions.

Addict regularly seeks out the best and most on point designers and illustrators to work with the brand to produce their ‘Artist Series’ range. This limited edition series of tees and related products have seen Addict working with a long list of contemporary talent. This list includes big names who have returned several times to work with Addict such as Mr Jago, Will Barras, Mode 2, Ben Swift and Steff Pleatz.

Collaborative products have always been a big part of Addicts output. This has lead the brand to produce products in conjunction with some big names including: Lucasfilms, Vans, G-Shock, Activision Games and Disney.

As aforementioned the brand has strong links with various aspects of the music world. ‘ABC’ or The Addict Beats Collective is a wing of the company stiven to strengthen these ties, having worked with big artists and labels such as Rodney P and Skitz, The Nextmen, Hospital Records and the Stanton Warriors to name but a few.

5 Pointz has been a dedicated supporter of Addict clothing with a wide range of their products always available in our bricks and mortar store and on-line.

Recent Addict News

Addict Clothing has been killing it with their outerwear releases for this season. Since their foundation back in 1997, Addict have been getting it spot on with their apparel. The pieces are often simple and classic, while appealing to current trends and always having a distinctly British look...and they don't break the bank.

The new 'Mountain Guide' jacket is a perfect example of this with it's military styling, matt canvas finish and plaid lining. The embossed leather sliders and contrasting zipper are details being used by several international street brands at the moment, keeping the jacket bang up to date. At the same time the 'Union' tag on the sleeve, flap pockets and length give the garment a timeless, heritage appeal.

The 'Hooded College' jacket also plays a clever trick by taking traditional American styling and simply adding a hood witha zip divider and an embossed leather tag again to give it a contemporary, original twist.

More ingenious re-workings of traditional outerwear pieces are coming through very soon. Watch this space for more detail.
