Latest Nike Drop. Air Max 1's, Blazers, Flytops and more.
Here's just a quick look at some of the best bits of the latest Nike drop we've recieved. The more observant among you will notice that this stuff has been up on the site for a while now but it's been busy round here and it taken me till now to find the time to write a bit about them...alright? I try my best, only got one pair of hands and one increasingly slow brain, etc.
Anyway first up is a couple of really tasty new tonal colourways for the Air Max 1. Unlike past versions of this ever-popular silhouette that have featured loud contrasting colours to empahasize the different sections of the uppers, these two concentrate on one colour with differing tones going with different parts of the shoe. A style that has become popular with Nike in recent years.
The uppers are made from the same materials as the ACG pack Air Max 1's that landed earlier in the year, being mainly a suede like material with the toe cap, collar and tongue. Here's the 'Team Red' colourway...
Those little hints of Velvet Brown are all that needed to really bring out that rich red. I think the mono-colour design shows what a satisfying outline the Air Max 1 has.
The undersole has the darkest tone on the shoe. which matches the interior of the air unit and really makes the shape of the white outsole stand out. Here's the 'Obsidian' version...
These are my personal favourites. I think the difference between the tones is really clear on this one and the blue compliments shape perfectly.
Now for another member of the Air Max family, the Air Max Light. This Neutral Grey/Blue Glow colourway. This latest version of the AM Light follows the contamporay tonal colour blocking tendencies of the above Air Max 1's but adds a dash of contrast with the Blue Glow that really does glow against the light greys. It does this shoe's classic style justice.
The Nike Blazer is a classic silhouette that harks back to long before Tinker Hatfield first came up with the Air Max 1. Although other recent colourways have found ways of giving the shoe a more contemporary look these latest suede versions are pure old school in every detail. Here the mid version in bold 'Forest Green' colourway:
The oversized swoosh and vintage detailing on the outsole finishes of the retro look. Here's the low versions in the same Team Red as the Air Max 1's.
The purely suede uppers simplify the look of the silhouette and mean these shoes go with a wide selection of outfits. Next up we have a relatively new silhouette, the Nike Air Flytop, that sports a look straight from the era of the Blazers first release and is bound to be a hit with those of you who love a good high top. Here it is is the Iron/Stone/White colourway and we also have it in a Black/Black/White version.
I can't believe this is a recent silhouette. It's pure early eighties with that ankle strap and classic lines. You wouldn't be surprised if MJ Fox was rocking them in Back to the Future has he hangs onto the back of a pick up on his skateboard. The suede detailing on this version is executed perfectly.
Now to a silhouette that was clearly created for a modern audience with contemporary tastes; The Nike Toki. These latest versions with purely canvas uppers come in some well considered colours, the most popular of which has been these Iguana/White numbers.

Such smooth simple lines on the Toki. There's skate elements in there and for some reason I always think there is some Japanese element in there. The cushioning unit hidden in the sole means they are extremely comfortable too. That's all for now people. Check out outr Nike section for more winners and recent updates.
