The new Adidas Originals Freemont Mid has arrived!

Adidas Originals

We've just got brand new colour-ways of the much loved Adidas Originals Freemont Mid and they are definitely looking up to last years standard. First released last year the Freemont is that sought of well considered silhouette that is bound to besome a classic.  All three versions were extremely well recieved by sneaker obsessives.

Two brand new colour-ways are with us, with the third on it's way, and by all accounts they have stayed true to the original design and any additions have only improved the look. These Chalk/Black/White versions have, as with last year, a great mix of leather and suede uppers, an oversized tongue, perforated 3 stripes and metal trefoils on the heel and ankle. The black contrasting detail added to these versions really shows off the excellent shape and the thick line around the sole sits against the other subtle colours to great effect...

They look bad. Better than last year, some would say, which is some feat.

Here's the new black/grey freemonts which should be with us very soon. They remind me of the iron/silver colour-way from last year which was supposed to have taken influence from the interiors of old fashioned american hot rod cars. I think these have the same slickness and the distribution of the grey definitely emphasizes this...

That strip of colour around the sole in these new colour-ways is inspired.

Next up is this new Wheat version. A very similar colour-way to this was used on the Adi-Rise this year and it works just as well on the Freemont Mid.

Adidas Originals Freemont Mid Wheat/White

The band of colour around the sole is less obvious with this colour-way but I think the wheat and brown colours of the uppers really bring out the details...

The white trefoil on the side and heel strap of these are a brilliant detail that works really well against the wheat. The mix of leather and suede on the uppers is such a nice feature of the Freemont Mid. It gives them a look of true quality.

Nike Spring/Summer winners

Nike

It's always a good day when the latest Nike drop lands. There are always some truly fresh reworkings from their big catalogue of classic silhouettes. This first drop of the new year has not dissappointed.

Throughout the growth and development of the sports shoe industry Nike have raised the bar and  redefined the game with their inspired innovations. One such occasion was in 1987 when the Air Max 1 was first released. With it's visable air cushion for unbeatable comfort and satisfying shape it instantly became the new king of running shoes.

The Air Max family has of course branched off down several avenues since this first release, but the original has continued to be re-released in a multitude of colour-ways and many would say has yet to be beaten for performance and look.

The latest release of the shoe is a three colour-way pack inspired by the popular ACG (All Conditions Gear) range. The suede and mesh mix of the uppers stays true to the traditional construction of the shoe with the ACG influence coming in on the colour combinations and logo callouts on the heel and tongue.

The first version in Dark Shadow and Purple was a big hit and this second offering with it's Deep Royal Blue and White colour scheme is bound to go down the same way...

Nike Air Max 1 ACG Pack Deep Royal Blue

The Air Max 1 is such a satisfying shape and these ACG colourways show it off so well.

Nike Air Max 1 ACG Pack Deep Royal Blue

The mismatched laces, which are a feature of all three Air Max 1's in this pack, are an excellent touch. This third and final Black/Green coluor-way are coming in any day now. More subtle than the first two but still made to stand out with the bright swoosh and laces, I've got a feeling these are going to appeal to a wider audience...

The mesh and suede mix on the uppers stands out brilliantly on this colour-way. An excellent re-working of the silhouette.

The Nike Blazer is one of those classic profiles that sits in the same league as the Converse's Chuck All Stars and PF Flyers chunky hi tops. They're reminiscent of the earliest days of hip hop culture in the mid seventies and have a simple construction that will never fully go out of favour. These latest premium versions of the Blazer Mid, with their subtle perforated swoosh and contrasting toe guard, show off all that is right about the silhouette...

Nike Blazer Mid Premium Black

These Blazer Lows with their rich blue colouring and matching swoosh also sport a classic look that works just as well now as it would have thirty years ago.

One thing that has made Nike such an influential force in footwear is their ability to produce models that define a genre. The blueprint that other companies take their lead from. What the Air Max 1 did for running shoes the Nike Dunk did years before to the Basketball boot. It has since been adopted as one of the most popular silhouettes of skaters and streetwear-heads and been released in hundreds of different colour-ways.  We always have a choice selection of Dunks in stock and these latest Varsity Purple/White numbers give the profile another lease of life...

Nike Dunk High White/Varsity Purple

The Terminator High is a shoe in the same league as the dunk. It's the large Nike logo across the heel that makes the Terminator instantly recognizable and gives it that retro feel. I love the colour-way on these. The beige and the Concord blue were made for each other.

The Skyline is one of the many re-workings to emerge from the Nike Air Max family. You can see the relation but the Skyline has several features that make it unique. The overall shape is bulkier than the original and there's an extra window onto the air bubble on the back of the heel that gives the Skyline a look of it's own.

That's all for now folks. We've got new Nike kicks coming in soon so watch this space, and in the meantime check out our Nike section to check out the rest of our selection.

Adidas Originals X Star Wars

Adidas Originals X Star Wars

The iconic imagery from the original Star Wars trilogy has always been linked to youth culture since it's initial release in the late seventies.  It seems to be that if you're into hip hop and/or streetwear then you also have a special place in your ticker for Tie Fighters, X wings, Lightsabers and all things to do with the force.

With this in mind it seems obvious that Adidas Originals, as a major player in Street-wear should combine their own design and branding with that from a galaxy far far away and that is exactly what they've done. The idea was first tried out last year and was such a great success that a new set of footwear and apparel has been released for spring/summer 2011.

At 5 Pointz, as with all Adidas Originals gear, we have selected the best of this new collection so there is no need to shop around. There are still some pieces yet to arrive but here is a quick look at what we have so far...

First off is this Stormtrooper tee with a black and white illustration of one of the Empires notorious footsoldier framed nicely in a rounded Adidas Originals box. It looks like the label you get on a new pair of kicks and is a good size to fill the front of a tee.
Adidas Originals SW D ST (Stormtrooper) T Shirt White

This was the original graphic that was released with the press release and is so strong that they've brought it back for another go. This next design that is new for this year has been given a more elaberate make over. The stormtrooper is filled with a colourful Warhol-esque camouflage pattern and the black outlines are made up of a glossy rubber material that stands out from the material to give the design a cool shiny, tactile quality...

Adidas Originals Star Wars Stormtrooper T Shirt White

There is also both logo on the back neck printed using the same rubber stuff. It really shines...

There's also this Stormtrooper crew which has been produced using the same pattern, rubberized print and logos on the back neck:

Adidas Originals Star Wars ST (Stormtrooper) Sweater Heather Grey

These next jackets have proved extremely popular already. They are clearly a reworking of the classic Adidas Originals Track Top that has been plastered with Star Wars imagery and slogans mixed with retro Adidas graphics. The force is indeed strong with this one...there's even a bloody great death star printed across the back. This is the Stormtrooper version:

Adidas Originals Star Wars Track Top White/Black

Here's that deathstar on the back:

...and here's the more dark side Vader version:

Adidas Originals Star Wars Track Top Black

Going on the theme of that big dude with the crazy mask and breathing problem here are a couple of tees that are dripping with that something something dark side...

Adidas Originals Star Wars Darth Vader T Shirt White
Darth Vader, Some Superstars and a Trefoil medallion...that a good mix to have on a tee. Really nice foil print on this one.

Adidas Originals SW D DV (Darth Vader) T Shirt Black

This tonal number is similar in design layout to the first tee I showed. Simple and iconic.

As I mentioned at the top, we are expecting more Star Wars X Adidas Originals gear sometime soon so watch this space for updates...and may the force be with all of y'all. :)

New tees from 10 Deep NYC

10 Deep

Here's a quick look at the wicked drop of new tees we've got in from that much respected high-end street-wear brand 10 Deep NYC. The label's graphic output is always bold and strong with a lot of use of thick black lines and a limited colour-way to keep their designs simple an striking. This latest load of t shirts seems to stick to this set of rules and the result is a look that nothing but dope.

This first design is called the 'Omega House' and as you can see features a delicate script print on the front. It's clearly influenced by old fashoined college graphics as the name shows and has been printed with a nice pre-worn effect. We've got it in Burgundy, Grey and White.

10 Deep Omega House T Shirt Burgandy

This next 'Knuckle Attack' tee uses the effect of having several 10 Deep stickers overlapping each other, some one has run up to you and stuck them right on you. It's been used before by 10 Deep in t shirt designs and works particularly well on this one.

10 Deep Knuckle Attack T Shirt Heather Grey

You also get a 10 Deep box logo across the back of this one as well as the '10' that is always on the back hem of 10 Deep tees. We've also got this one in black.

10 Deep Knuckle Attack T Shirt Heather Grey

This 'Diamond Knuckle' tee uses the same Knuckle logo but in a simpler, more subtle, tonal design. We've also got this in white.

10 Deep Diamond Knuckle T Shirt Black

This next 'P.S.A' t shirt has been proving very popular and has been spotted being worn by hip hop star Ludacris at a recent gig. It features the whole crew of 10 Deep characters, who have featured in designs of their own over the years, hanging out together on one tee.

10 Deep P.S.A T Shirt White

The most well known and frequently used of these characters is Murko, the 10 Deep mascot. With his giant head made from a knuckle duster he has featured on loads of tees in seasons past and has also been released as a vinyl toy. This 'Baby Got Back' tee has him (...or maybe her) as never seen before looking like a hip hop honey and showing some serious booty in a skimpy bikini and 'fuck me' pumps. Who knew Murko had it in him...it's a bit disturbing.

10 Deep Baby Got Back T Shirt White

Damn, Murko got A.S.S! That's all for now. We've a big selection of other top notch 10 Deep gear in our 10 Deep section.

Dope new tees from Trainerspotter!

Trainerspotter

Trainerspotter has slowly become one of the UKs biggest streetwear brands, havin done collaborations with several other well known brands, retailers and celebrities. There recognizable branding of the palm tree and other images such own pop-art inspired grenade can be seen being rocked by streetwear heads all over.

Here at 5 Pointz we've just got a big batch of fresh tees in from Trainerspotter to start the new year off with a bang. There's a good mix of  old classics and brand new ideas in this lot and as a collection they sit together very well.

To start with here is a re-working of the afore-mentioned 'Grenade' design. This latest version has the grenade rendered in bright colours sitting at a slight angle as a large print on the front of the tee. With this one as with all of this new set there is a palm logo on the right sleeve and a sewn on logo patch on the front left hem.

Trainerspotter Grenade T Shirt Black

We've also got this one in Navy. Next up is this loud 'Frank' print, that I'm guessing is  based on the illustrations from old Horror Comics. Trainerspotter like taking visual icons from popular culture at putting a new edge on them and Frankenstein's Monster seems to work excellently in this role. Really like the loud pink against the black. Banging.

Trainerspotter Frank T Shirt Black

I saw some people looking like that last time I was in Camden. Messy people. This next 'Break' tee has a much happier and more gentle feel to it. A clear homage to American artist and social activist Keith Haring. Haring became infamous in the 1980's for his instantly recognizable lively characters who were always rendered with bright colours, with which he decorated the streets of New York. With the beakdancing reference as well this tee is definitely dedicated to the eighties.

Trainerspotter Break T Shirt Marl Grey

This 'Coconut Tree' piece is a clever combination of Trainerspotter's two most well known images, the palm tree and the grenade. The grenade-onuts are falling from the tree, which is filled with a loud pop-art-esque camouflage pattern. A simple and effective design that fills the front of the tee very well.

The 'Son of a Gun' design of last year was one of Trainerspotter's most popular. It consisted of two revolvers placed next to each other so they resemble the face on view of a cow skull. Due to it's popularity it is back in two new versions. The 'Son of a Ray Gun' tee has given the concept a Buck Rogers twist...

Trainerspotter Son Of A Ray Gun T Shirt White

And here it is given an 80's surf wear twist with the 'Son of a Gun (Fade)' tee...

Trainerspotter Son Of A Gun (Fade) T Shirt Black

Another tee that harks back to the days of dayglo coloured surf wear from brands such as Fat Willys and Bad Boyz Club is this 'Surf Logo' tee. Not only were the colours bright the format was always to have a logo/design printed on the left chest with the same image much larger on the back. This tee does exactly the same.
