Loads of wicked pieces in the latest 'The Hundreds' drop.

The Second AW10 drop from The Hundreds has landed and the top LA brand has not let us down. There doesn't seem to be any pieces that let down the side in this lot, but as ever there are some that are stand out winners.

Those West Coast giants always throw a lot of Californian counter culture into their output, taking influence from surf, skate and hip hop culture. However, they are also more abstract and unexpected sources of inspiration in every The Hundreds collection like the 'Les' T Shirt of the last drop that was based on the poster for the West End musical 'Les Miserables'. Streetwear taking influence from a musical?! It works though. It's a dope tee.

They've pulled a similar trip with this first tee, the 'Starry'. It features a print of Adam that is rendered in the style of the famous, ear-removing artist Vincent Van Goth. According to The Hundreds the design is based on one specific painting: 'The Starry Night' , which is obvious if you take a look at original. With this obscure subject of influence they make a really strong design. The Hundreds have got all post impressionist on us:

Another random source of inspiration is apparent in this next one, the 'Wallacide' tee. This one is apparently an homage to a 1973 cover for the National Lampoons magazine. The most collectable issue of this magazine apparently. Here it is with The Hundreds t-shirt version (featuring Bobby Hundreds own mutt apparently):

I think The Hundreds version has got something on the original. The dog looks more genuinely scared...they've promised no animals were harmed in the making of this tee though.

This 'Hobby' tee also harks back to times past...or indeed times before a lot of us were born. It's based on old model kits, in which all the pieces were attached to a plastic frame and were a right bastard to get off. As annoying as the originals hobby sets could be the idea translates into a wicked design:

Adam Bomb is, according to The Hundreds, a very safety conscience mascot and this next tee called the 'Plate' shows this side of his personality with him filled in with indented sheet metal. You're not going to slip with this one:

He's also a stand up and 'Salute' breed of patriot and would kick some tail to protect the freedoms he holds dear...or something like that. Adam for president perhaps:

Also comes as snapback:

On the subject of snapbacks The Hundreds have done a new corduroy version of their ever-popular 'Team' hat. The cord effect works really well with this simple pro-sport graphics style design:

Military influences are pretty frequent in streetwear, like the various re-workings there have been of the M-65 US military jacket. This 'Bomb Squad' snapback is a prime example of this trend and works perfectly with The Hundreds recurring bomb theme:

The Hundreds are always bringing really strong New Era designs and this drop has not broken the pattern. Take this 'Bar Logo' New Era with it's heavily embroidered, raised lettering. Simple and strong design:

Flannel shirts are a massive part of streetwear with nearly all the brands coming up with their own versions. In my opinion few can do the flannel better than The Hundreds and this latest load has brought with it several shining examples. Here's the 'Kacy' shirt which with it's two tone plaid pattern showa how they are at the top of the game:

Check out the other new flannels and the rest of the new stuff in the range, in our 'The Hundreds' section. The last item for today is the new 'Vigo'. This full leather zip up wallet with the Jags design throughout is a really classy piece and would make a perfect christmas present:

That's all folks! Like I mentioned there is plenty more new stuff in 'The Hundreds' section. Check it out...

10 Deep holiday drop brings true quality with it.

10 Deep

10 Deep are known as being a brand that is at the high end of the streetwear market. Their products are always made to the highest quality and the design is full of bold graphics and instantly recognisable. As they say in their own words, they are:

'Driven by the same personal strength and energy that bore hip hop, skate, punk and graffiti subcultures, 10.Deep, a cornerstone street wear brand for over fifteen years, communicates the bold power of individuality.'

Their New York background is always visible in their products and this latest drop is no exception. Even the dark rich colours they so often use have a real east coast feel. This individual look is crystal clear in this first piece, the 'Loose Cannon' varsity jacket. It is plastered with 10 Deep graphics and slogans and has the same quality feel to it as all their products:

10 Deep Loose Cannon Varsity Jacket Navy

This is how a varsity jacket should look in my opinion. Crisp and colourful. A real winner. Next up is the 'Manning' long sleeved top which also uses college sports type graphics with a street angle put on it. A really nice simple two tone design. Burgandy seems to be a big colour for a lot of brands this season and it definitely works on this piece:

10 Deep Manning L/S Top Burgundy

Another peice that uses burgandy brilliantly is this 'Diamond Hoody'. Again, such high quality in the design and construction and big graphics in white. The logo badge on the left chest is made of rubber and it's little touches like this that make all this new 10 Deep gear really stand out. Love the script text across the shoulders which they have used on several pieces this year.

10 Deep Diamond Hoody Burgandy

There is a zip up the side of this piece so it's easy to take on and off, which is a wicked little touch and adds to the overall look.

Another top piece that uses this script across the back is this 'Camo Script' crewneck. Blend into the trees with this crew and sneek up on your foes. There are large hand pockets on this one which give you one of the advantages of a hoody in a crewneck...

10 Deep Camo Script Crewneck Woodland

If you prefer your 10 Deep stuff with the heavier graphics then this 'Certified' crewneck is the one for you. Featuring some beautiful embroidery and an array of badges sewn down both sleeves and incorporated into the main design this truely a stand-out crewneck. This one also has the two large hand pockets for extra comfort.

Zip up hoodies with wooden toggle closures are a big thing in streetwear at the moment and the 10 Deep 'Paddington Plus' is a top end version of this idea. Simple design that is executed perfectly. I particularly like the colour of the lining on this one.

10 Deep Paddington Plus Hooded Jacket Black

As I've mentioned in loads of blogs before this the flannel shirt is a massive part of streetwear these days with every sub branch of the culture adopting the look. The quality of a brand's flannel shirts is a pretty accurate marker for the quality of the brand. Which is why 10 Deep flannels are dope. The colours, pattern, material and details are all just right. We've got several in this new drop and here's a prime example: The 'North Eastern' in Rum Raisin.

10 Deep North Eastern L/S Flannel Shirt Rum Raison

Love the richness of that colour and that little watch pocket below the left chest. A wicked shirt.
Last but by no means least is this 'Scattershot' jacket. In my opinion this is the piece that sums up what 10 Deep is about. Smart but with a street edge. This jacket is filled to keep the warmth in and has a smooth cotton quilt lining, as well as dozens of other quality details. The double button closure down the front makes the look of this jacket.

Those 4 pockets on the waist also add to the look. Top quality. That's the name of the 10 Deep game. Check out these and other pieces in our 10 Deep Section.
