Quality gear just in from Addict UK.
5pointz has got a confession to make. Over the recent months we've managed to get ADDICTed. I mean we're strung out, man. What can I say their product is just too good. Made with careful consideration out of quality material with impeccable design. I'm not a 'pusher' or anything but you should really try this stuff.
Starting life as a menswear label in 1996, Addict has developed a signature style of streetwear that blends classic casual wear with the performance, quality and functionality of high spec outerwear. The brand has over a decade’s worth of heritage in the streetwear genre, its roots run deep in the design, music and board sports communities crossing over both to the underground and mainstream alike since birth.
We've got a load of Jackets, Hoodys, Body-warmers, Flannel vests and more and they're all well fitted and extremely comfortable. A piece that has had various versions made by various brands at the moment is the duffel hoody with wooden toggles as well as a zip. Addict has come up with some wicked versions of this hybrid. This is the Wool Duffel Bomber Jacket with large front pockets and Addict branding throughout:
This Duffel Bomber jacket is intended as an outdoors jacket. For a slightly less heavyweight version that is meant for indoors and out you have the the Duffel sweat:
Everyone loves a good flannel shirt. They've become a mainstay of streetwear over recent years and they're showing no signs of disappearing. This Addict Field Lumbercheck shirt is the softest most comfortable shirt I've tried on in ages. Very nice...
Addict are well known for their high quality, hard-wearing outer wear and they're still coming up with the goods in this department. This Northwest X Northwest jacket is a collaboration piece between Addict and American footwear/apparel retailers crooked tongues. It blends traditional British outdoor functionality with a definite American influence to produce an excellent jacket that's built to last several harsh winters.
If you're looking for something that is just as study but more compact then we have the Addict Bonded Fleece with it's three bonded layers, extra tough Ripstop shell and fleece lining. It's really warm without any bulk:
This Addict Goosedown Jacket is another guaranteed winter warmer. With tonal Addict branding on the hood and sleeve and a bright contrasting lining, along with goosedown stuffing and elasticated waist this is another quality Addict jacket:
We've also got a sleeveless vest version with all the same qualties...except for the arms of course. This is the Goosedown gilet:
Addict don't just do wicked clothes. They've also branched out into all sorts of accessories and housewares. One example of this are these wicked Uprock Headphones and we've got them in four wicked colour-ways. Listen to your tunes in high quality while looking the busy-ness:
Make sure you check out our Addict section for more pics and details of this stuff plus more addictive gear.
Crooks and Castles Autumn Winter collection
The new collection from those rough LA boys 'Crooks & Castles' is looking as sharp as ever. With excellent graphics and quality garments Crooks and Castles has quickly risen to the top of the streetwear game and has been endorsed by several big hip hop names such as Jay-Z and Kanye West.
What caught the founders of Crooks and Castles attention in the mid 90's was independent fashion/graphic brands. After years of learning the in's & out's of the business by starting a brand without any knowledge of how to start or run a clothing company, they finally came to this... "Crooks & Castles"! The concept was easy. "Crooks", criminals, pimps, hustlers, thieves, etc. And "Castles" of those who got rich by becoming a crook.
This new batch is full of classic looks mixed with the Crooks & Castles ethos of american gangster glamour. There's reworkings of Medusa on the tees and she also features on one of the varsity jackets of which there are several. The most premium of these is the Chain Castle Varsity Jacket. It's full of embroidered details and made out of qualit heavy weight cotton with contrasting leather sleeves. A real high end piece that will fight the cold and have you looking dappa...
As just mentioned Crook & Castles have come with a multitude of varsity jackets. The other are lighter weight than this Chain Castle mumber but still all top notch pieces. Take this Rook jacket with it's fine detailing as stand out colouring. My favourite touch is the little Bandito embroidered onto the left sleeve:
A more subtle look that sticks with that classic college varsity looks is the Colleague Varsity that lets the branding take a back seat and gives room for the quality of the garment to shine. Love the contrasting detailing aroung the front slit pockets:
The Demon C has smashed it as a design on New Era caps and now you can wear it on your chest with this Demon C Varsity. Brilliant detailing on this jacket too. The plain cuffs, neck and hem mean the C really stands out:
One thing that is often present in Crooks & Castles designs are catch phrases incorporated in the garment as they constantly push their message. This next Ruckus hoody is a prime example with the phrase 'Bring the Mothafuckin Ruckus' printed down the left sleeve. A really nice feel to this one. Put it on and the urge is to sit and chill.
Now I know the first thing you think in these cold conditions is not likely to be 'I need a new t shirt', but these next Crooks & Castles beauties might make you change your mind. First up is this Winner Circle tee. It's strong graphics and glamourous look has caught the eye of several hip hop heavy hitters who have been spotted wearing it.
Next up is the 'Bandito'. This masked character is the simplified sibling of Medusa and looks dope on a tee. A much more simple design than Crooks and Castles usually go for that works a treat:
Last but by no means least is this Crooks & Castles Horsebit Medusa tee. A real Versace influence to this one as their often is in their graphics.
That's all folks. As ever be sure to check out our Crooks & Castles section for more eye catching LA feel wears.
The Hundreds' new Johnson Lows and Mids are looking sharp!
Fresh in this week are brand spanking new versions of the firmly established Johnson Low and Mid shoes from those LA masters of understated cool, The Hundreds.
Combining influences from a wide variation of other sneaker collections, the Johnson is a simple silhouette with colour-ways that are always strong. The changes that have been made in this latest re-working are subtle but work really well. On the lows the uppers are entirely suede leather that are covered in tiny perforations apart from the toe-box. The vulcunized gum sole has contrasting front guard, along with the usual touches like the padded tongue and logo badge at the heel. The emphasis is definitely on the shape and materials used with these shoes.
There's no elaborate graphics or loud colour combinations. The Hundreds take a lot of their influences form Californian Surf and Skate culture and that is definitely evident in the Johnson. Here's the black version of the lows:
I really like that perforated effect. Gives them a really classic look and that contrasting toe guard definitely gives them that skater feel.
And there's that good old Jag motif decorating the sole. Nice touch. Here's the burgandy colour-way:
I think these really show of the details and the texture of the suede.
Next up is the reworking of the Johnson mid silhouette. These are also suede but with a wicked 'Snake' effect applied to it. They also have an EVA insole for extra comfort around the heel as well as the usual 'The Hundreds' details...
Loving that snakeskin effect...and these mids are such a satisfying shape.
The contrasting solo metal eyelet works really well to emphasize the extra height of this Mid version of the Johnson. Here's the Hunter Green colour-way:
The colour of these really shines against the contrasting laces and soles. The Hundreds have done themselves proud with these re-workings. To check them out in more detail and to pick up your pair just click on the links above.
A load of new outerwear from LRG.
LRG, the brand with the trees, has recently delivered a selection of quality jackets just as the weather is really stating to bite. There is several different style's in this bunch and clearly LRG's designers have clearly taken influence from various areas of fashion to produce them.
There is always a close connection with nature and the outdoors in all of LRG's output, so it is only natural that they should be at the top of the game when it comes to well made outer-wear.
First up is the 'Snowdrift' padded jacket which with it's thick bold stripes and shiny shell is clearly based on ski wear. It's comfy and warm with all the usual LRG branded details:
This next one called the 'Triumph' jacket is a completely different style, with it's look being more smart and urban. With it's snap button collar, adjustable buckle strap, white detailing around the hand pockets and subtle branding this jacket is a nice simple piece...
With a more rugged outdoor feel is this 'Milestone' jacket. With it's 100% cotton shell and polyester lining this piece is a modern take on the old lumberjack plaid look. I really like the ribbed cotton edges on this. Definitely a good look for the Winter:
Here's the black one. A rougher look with this one I think. Makes it look a bit more urban perhaps.
This 'Tree Brigade' jacket with it's faux fur collar lining and polyester filled cotton shell is a tough hardwearing jacket that will get you through several winters. The lining means it can withstand the harshest conditions while keeping a smart fitted look...
LRG is renowned for its Core Colection pieces that are plain, simple and well made. This 'Puffy' jacket is a prime example of all these qualities, with a removable hood to give you two looks in one jacket. Also available in grey:
This next called the 'Mercer' jacket has the look and hardwearing construction of the infamous M65 jacket used by US military. The M65 has been the source of influence for pieces by various top streetwear brands and this is the LRG take on the classic design:
To keep your head as warm as your body while wearing these jackets LRG bring you the 'Flathead' beanie. With it's retro striped pattern, bobble and embroidered logo this beanie is a quality piece of headwear and the bobble is definitely in fashion at the moment...
